SOHO Insights: Top 7 Need to know before your first SOHO workout

Now that you’ve committed to your first workout, you might be wondering what to expect when you arrive at the studio. Don’t sweat it–Here are the top 7 things to know before your first experience with us! . Check out our insider tips before you visit and get ready to CRUSH your first KILLER workout!


#1 - SOHO is boxing & functional inspired fitness


In professional boxing, there can be a maximum of 12 rounds of 3 minutes each.We used this to create our fun and effective workout style..The workouts were created to help you grow stronger physically and mentally over time.We encourage beginners to start with 6 rounds and increase their endurance progressively and eventually be able to complete the full 12 rounds. After every round of exercises, there is a 1 minute active break in between before the next exercise.


#2 - The workouts are circuit based


What do we mean when we say “There is no Class time at SOHO”? We mean that classes run throughout the day in circuits. Every 3 minutes a new round begins, you can come in on your time and get started on your workout quickly.



Each round offers new and challenging exercises to help you push yourself for the entire 3 minutes. Because you’re constantly switching things up and moving through the circuit, those 25 minutes go by fast and before you know it, you’re sweating and smiling at the end of your KILLER workout.


#3 - There’s a new challenge everyday


Everyday, there is a new Workout of the Day (WOD). The workouts mix functional movements, strength exercises and boxing fitness. The workout schedule will repeat twice a month to give you the opportunity to check your progress as you get stronger and fitter after each session.


#4 - An instructor is always included


Do you ever find yourself walking into a gym and not knowing where to start or what to do with all the fancy equipment? If so, you’re going to love our trainer-led workouts. At SOHO, an instructor is always included, so there’s always someone to guide you and motivate you throughout the entire workout. They will also encourage you each time you come in and find ways to make your workout more challenging when you need that extra push.



#5 - SOHO offers Nutrition too!


At SOHO, we know the importance of a balanced diet- which is why we have a variety of delicious protein shakes!

#7 - You Might Be a Little Sore Tomorrow


If you haven’t worked out in awhile, you might find yourself very sore and have limited mobility the next day. This soreness typically begins within a few hours but peaks one to two days after exercise. This soreness is called delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS). It usually kicks in 12 to 24 hours after a tough workout and peaks between 24 to 72 hours. The soreness will go away in a few days. In the meantime, make sure to keep moving and get plenty of rest.
